Football team defeats St. Francis 48-6

Friday's game took place at St. Francis against the Red Cloud Crusaders. Although the Crusaders' scoring only took place in the first half, it proved to enough to best their West River Conference rival, the St. Francis Warriors, 48-6. Red Cloud's Senior running back Billy Scott had three touchdowns, and scored on 41 and 4-yard runs as well as a 63-yard punt return.

Scott also led the Crusader's in rushing yards with 113 yards on 10 carries, as well as 7 tackles on defense. Red Cloud dominated on the ground with 246 yards while St. Francis only recorded 75 yards, but St. Francis had 105 passing yards from their QB Earl Peneaux. Red Cloud came out in the first quarter with the score at 16-0. Carl Swallow added a pair of touchdown runs to the boards with 43 rushing yards. Mike Cuny caught a 5-yard touchdown pass from Jeremy Blacksmith. St. Francis only score came late into the fourth quarter with a touchdown pass to Michael Farmer from Earl Peneaux. Red Cloud (2-1) will host Cheyenne-Eagle Butte for homecoming this Friday while St. Francis (0-3) hosts the Hill City Rangers.
